How to Use My Healthevet for Veterans | my healthevet

This is BridgingApps and we're going to show you just a little bit about how to use the "MyHealtheVet" website. So you're first going to want to make sure that you've upgraded your account to the premium status and that is free, but it does take a verification process from your health care provider at the VA. You can also do that online and we can share that information with you in the link below. Now the VA also has a suite of apps that can help you as well -- if you'd rather login into the apps instead of their secure browser. You can download the RX app to refill prescriptions. Their video connect app. There is also a VA health and benefits app so it's up to you how you decide to login whether you're going to use an app on a tablet or a phone or if you're just going to use a secure browser using the My Healthevet (website) on a browser like safari. We're going to demonstrate how to go into my healthy vet using a web browser like safari and for this video we're actually using an iphone and using the safari browser. So first of all, you want to sign-in and there are a couple different ways that you can sign in. So you can sign in and their recommended way is option one -- as in a new VA. You can also do My Healthe vet only. So if I were to login, I could have that information saved on my phone. I'm using an iPhone, so I have it saved with my facial recognition. Once I get in I've got some different options what, but what's really nice is you could renew your prescriptions. You can also get a hold of your health care providers. So in their secure messaging, I can go into my inbox. I can compose messages. I can look at messages that have been sent to me. So it's really nice as a way to communicate for one. One of my favorite ways is the pharmacy -- refilling prescriptions or maybe your prescriptions have changed and so you can also look at your medication list. It's just a fast and easy way to kind of see what your dosages are and when prescriptions expire and then if I wanted to renew prescriptions I can easily do that instead of calling the 1 800 number. Then maybe you don't have the prescription with you -- the refill number maybe you don't have the bottle anymore. So this is just a nice, easy way that I can log in. I can see which ones are active. I've actually just made some requests so I can see that they're in the process -- they're processing. I can also see which ones I didn't fill and there's a little check mark box that allows me to fill those so if I wanted to fill them I can just put a checkmark there. It comes up and it says okay -- so it'll tell me active refill and process. It is just a fast and an easy way. For me, I feel like it's much less of a hassle than calling that 1 800 number and trying to make sure that i have the correct information or the refill number. I could also get the care and so that would help me to keep track of all my (healthcare) providers. I can look at my coverages. I can look at my calendar. I could schedule appointments and you can also set up appointments or set up customized reminders. It's just a really great way using their website Myhealthevet.com
